Van Vliet Automobielbedrijven was founded in 1953. Nol van Vliet’s father (Bas van Vliet) was a farmer and started trading in used cars and trucks. After a thorough refurbishment, the cars were again sold. Soon a good name was built up and the agracultic company became more important than before.

The big bloom started when Nol van Vliet started working in the company. Together with his brothers he continued the work of his father. Nol was so concerned with the car trade that he did everything he could to finish his compulsory schooling as quickly as possible so that he could help his father in practice. Nol felt from the beginning with the product and the industry; and an innate talent as a merchant. He has learned from the beginning the intricacies of the profession and all the ins and outs of technology and trade. At least, as far as he did not have it yet.

In 1993, Nol was in charge of the company. Turnover rose by 150 million euros over the years and the workforce to 110 employees. The success is partly determined by his broad knowledge, the right feeling in purchasing, a sharp negotiation strategy, an efficient sense of cost control and a large network of relations around the world. In short, a business man pur sang. Nol van Vliet also knows how to motivate and value its staff in a good way, as evidenced by the very long employment of a large group of loyal employees with a wealth of experience and technical knowledge. For Nol it is one big family. And the employees with the right mentality also feel at one with the family.

The philosophy of Nol van Vliet is: fast delivery of good quality at a competitive price. This philosophy is the success of the company. Large stock, large workshops, expert staff. With a lot of guts he knows how to bring in projects, where others do not have the courage. More than 3000 vehicles are delivered every year. The largest part is exported to Africa. Nol van Vliet has offices, workplaces, partnerships and contacts with commissioners in a large number of countries that support sales.

In the time of Nol van Vliet, a huge business expansion was realized with the construction of an office building, workshops, showroom and a hardened storage area behind the company buildings. With this expansion, the company also gained more prestige as a major player in this area. Approximately 6 hectares of the original 45 ha of agricultural land are used for the operational management.

Nol van Vliet has always been strong in the fast delivery of newly launched passenger cars, where official dealers were dealing with long delivery times. For example, he was the first to get certain new Mercedes-Benz models to the Netherlands. And so, for example, the Volkswagen Beetle was also at Van Vliet half a year earlier than at the Dutch dealers. The image of Nol van Vliet includes exclusive brands such as Lamborghini, Bugatti, Ferrari and Porsche.

In 1996 Nol van Vliet received an important appreciation for the quality level of delivered products. Van Vliet received the ISO-9002/2001 certificate. A confirmation of the fulfillment of deliveries according to internationally established quality standards and requirements. Nol knew that in international business with large parties, the ISO standard is of great importance. It is even a prerequisite for negotiations with large organizations and government institutions.

In 1998 Nol van Vliet introduced the principle “One Stop Truck Center”, which has been a great success internationally. The customer is taken care of by Van Vliet taking care of all work with one point of contact: from purchasing, modifications, repairs, spraying, lettering, transport, shipment, customs formalities, to final delivery and after sales service, on-site instruction and subsequent delivery of parts.

In 2015, Nol van Vliet won the importership of MAN Truck & Bus AG in Germany for five African countries. In 2017 the first branch was opened in Togo; a service point for after sales activities and spare parts deliveries.
